Here at St. Mary’s, we believe that all who wish to be baptized should be allowed to receive this most sacred sacrament. Those who have been denied Baptism, for whatever reason, are welcomed at St. Mary’s. Starting in 2003, on Holy Saturday, the Great Easter Vigil, Open Baptism has been held in the Hudson Valley. Individuals and/or families who, for whatever reason, were denied or “forgot” to have Baptism, had a beautiful ceremony in the midst of our Holy Saturday Vigil. Baptisms can be scheduled for any time-Sundays being the most appropriate. Families can choose either the Sunday morning Mass or after the Sunday Masses (about 12:30 PM) for the simpler ceremony.
